Egg Donor FAQ
How do I become an egg donor?
All egg donors must meet the following requirements: • Between 18-32 years of age • Have own child and desire to donate the oocyte • No genetic diseases • No allergies • No obesity • No bad habits
The donor undergoes a rigorous medical examination, which will find out if the woman has gynecological and sexually transmitted diseases, severe inflammation, etc.
Who do I help?
These are women who want to get pregnant but struggling with producing of their own eggs (removed ovarian failure, side effect chemo / radio therapy); women with immature eggs that are not able to be successfully fertilized; women with inherited genetic diseases.
Will egg donation bring my menopause closer?
No way. For better understanding, let us explain.
A normal female has a pool of about 300,000 eggs by the time of the beginning of menstruation. From these, only 500 will reach maturity in the time from puberty to menopause. This leaves approximately 299,000 eggs unused. There is no reason to believe that stimulating medications or the retrieval of 10-20 eggs can accelerate the onset of menopause.
How many times can I donate?
The legislation doesn’t limit the number of participation in egg donation program. However, International Society of in vitro Fertilization recommends an egg donor to participate in an egg donation 6-8 times during lifetime. Moreover, there must be at least a three months gap after the last retrieval. This time is given for your ovaries and organism to recover, so it could undergo one more stimulation without consequences.
Is donation anonymous?
Yes, according to the legislation, the donor’s identity remains incognito. The confidentiality of your personal information is kept as carefully as medical confidentiality: the recipient will never know your name, address or phone number. The only data that will be available is the color of your eyes and hair, height and weight, education, age and number of children. This is important for choosing the right donor, but it doesn’t violate your incognito. In addition, prospective parents sign an agreement that proves that they won’t have open contact or communication with you, will never try to find you, and that the child born from your egg will be registered as their own baby. Further communication between you and child is also impossible.
Will I be able to get pregnant after egg donation program?
Yes. You can plan your pregnancy in the following cycle after the retrieval.
Are there any complications of which I should be aware?
There is a little chance that woman can experience complications, but they exist. To avoid such you must strictly follow the instructions of doctors and medical staff.

The procedure of egg retrieval takes about 10 – 15 minutes and is performed under general anesthesia. A doctor controls the process with the help of the ultrasound screen. After the procedure finished, you have to rest some time in a recovery room. Then you are paid compensation and ready to go home.
